Wildlife, forest and water in the centre of Munich

The unusual museum in the former Augustinian church shows everything to do with hunting and fishing in German-speaking countries. In addition to historical exhibits, there are also natural history and ecological exhibition areas. For example, visitors can take a walk underwater in the "Water Worlds-Fish Stories" or learn more about the local animal world on the "Forest Trail".

Welcome to the Deutsches Jagd- und Fischereimuseum

Once home to Munich's Augustinian monks and one of the oldest stone-built churches in Munich, the former Augustinian Church has housed the German Hunting and Fishing Museum since 1966. In the middle of the pedestrian zone and flanked by bronze boars and catfish, we bring nature, hunting and fishing into the city centre. On three levels with various permanent exhibitions and changing special exhibitions, the museum is dedicated to all aspects of sustainable nature utilisation through hunting and fishing, as well as wildlife biology, environmental protection and ecology.

The museum is open daily from 09:30 to 17:00, including Mondays. The museum is closed on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and Shrove Tuesday. We look forward to your visit!
